Since spring 2023, the Digital Society Initiative of the University of Zurich and the Verein Parldigi have been offering the «Parldigi MasterClass» with the support of Stiftung Mercator.
Politicians at cantonal and national level are given the opportunity to gain further knowledge on technical, social, legal and ethical topics relating to the digital transformation. Experts from the University of Zurich and other universities offer short presentations and discussions with scientifically based and politically neutral content on current issues relating to digitalization – for example, on topics like cyber security, digital media and artificial intelligence.
The aim is to support visitors to the Parldigi MasterClass in forming a competent and independent opinion on upcoming political decisions. The project was piloted in 2021 and will now take place in several cantonal parliaments as well as in the national parliament. Currently, a MasterClass is being held for the Canton of Bern's «Grosser Rat».
