10 representatives of the Federal Parliament met on December 5 with project leaders from 8 of the total of 37 research projects from NRP 75 «Big Data».
Three of the eight projects were presented by DSI members: Emanuela Keller from University Hospital Zurich presented the project "Computer assistance for intensive and emergency medicine", Markus Christen spoke about "Big Data in insurance: personalisation versus solidarity" and Eleonora Viganò presented the recommendations of the "ELSI Task Force" on ethical, legal and social challenges of Big Data, which was led by the DSI.
The occasion to discuss opportunities and challenges of Big Data in our society, economy and state was actively used. The National Councillors, a member of the Council of States and other guests exchanged views with the researchers and discussed the results from the research.
