Eszter Hargittai and Florent Thouvenin, professors at the University of Zurich, have written a guest commentary in the NZZ on the use of tracking apps to combat Covid-19.
The guest commentary is based on the findings of a survey of over 1300 people throughout Switzerland, which shows the following in particular:
A tracking app would probably be used by many people in Switzerland, if and (maybe just because) its use would be voluntary. In addition, the fact that the Federal Council, the Federal Office of Public Health and the cantonal governments jointly act as publishers of the tracking app is likely to be decisive for its use, so that people install and use the tracking app.
