Four DSI Infrastructures & Labs completed

The DSI Infrastructures & Labs create shared environments for digital research at UZH. Since fall 2025, four of these projects have been completed – from a text analysis platform to a national survey panel.

What is built in an infrastructure or lab project should remain usable beyond the project duration: as a platform, as a tool, as a data resource. Four projects have now reached that point:

  • Swiss News Viz Media Lab (completed in fall 2025)
The lab provides expert tools and methods for the analysis of textual data through a publicly accessible platform for both research and teaching. Analytical tools, external and researchers' own data sources, and the export of reports and visualizations are combined in one place. To the project page
  • Health Data Repository (HDR) (completed at the end of 2025)
HDR is a central open-science, curated repository for semantically structured musculoskeletal imaging datasets – an area that the digitalization of medical research has largely left aside so far. Developed as a collaborative project between the Balgrist University Hospital and the DSI, the platform supports the development of trustworthy ML models and Digital Twins. To the project page
  • STAG: Statistical Timeseries Analysis Guide (completed in 2026)
STAG offers interactive and visual support for the exploration, pre-processing, analysis and reporting of multimodal, multivariate and high-volume time series data. The result: analysis protocols that are visually interpretable and replicable, instead of undocumented individual steps. To the project page
  • DigiVox Panel Survey Infrastructure (completed in 2026)
«DigiVox – The Swiss Survey Panel on Digitalization Questions» systematically tracks how attitudes and behaviors around digital media are changing in Switzerland. This provides data on questions that have so far been assumed rather than measured – such as the shift in expectations regarding data protection. To the project page
