Since August 2024, Marcelo has been specializing in developing new digital technologies to continuously detect and track fatigue in patients with multiple sclerosis and Long Covid.

Although fatigue is one of the symptoms that affect the quality of life of patients with chronic diseases the most, it is often overlooked and neglected in medicine. Using digital biomarkers, subjective patient reports can be supplemented with objective measurements and patients can be treated better. To make this possible, Marcelo is working closely with researchers, doctors, and patients from various medical institutions to develop practical applications that can improve patients' quality of life.
