Prof. Dr. med. vet. Jean-Michel Hatt
Jean-Michel Hatt is full professor and director of the Clinic for Zoo Animals, Exotic Pets and Wildlife at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich. He studied veterinary medicine at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and the University of Zurich (Switzerland). Following graduation, Jean-Michel Hatt worked at the Clinic of Zoo Animals, Exotic Pets and Wildlife at the University of Zurich and at the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London (United Kingdom) where he obtained a Master of Science in Wild Animal Health. Since 2001, Jean-Michel Hatt is Chief Veterinarian of the Zurich Zoo and he is a Diplomate of the American College of Zoological Medicine and of the European College of Zoological Medicine (subspeciality avian) and has set up residency programs for both these colleges. He regularly teaches at Royal Veterinary College at the University of London and in Universitas Syiah Kuala (UNSYIAH), Banda Aceh Indonesia where he co-organizes a Special Competences Wildlife Veterinary Training Course. The main research focus of Jean-Michel Hatt is comparative aspects of diseases related to nutrition and avian medicine and surgery.
