Enrollment
To enroll in the DSI Minor or Liberal Arts Option (LAO) Digital Skills starting in the 2025 Fall Semester (HS 25), you must request a «Change of Degree and/or Study Program» via the student portal before August 31.
The Minor and LAO share the same curriculum and differ only in the choice of digital skills modules.
Prerequisites
For enrollment, a bachelor's degree is required, but there are no other specific requirements. However, the requirements of your major program must be met.
Minor: Check if your (intended) Master’s major (90 ECTS) allows a combination with the DSI Minor Digital Skills (30 ECTS). See the full list of Master’s programs (PDF, 151 KB) that may be combined with the DSI Minor Digital Skills.
Note: Minor modules are open to students from all disciplines through the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS). They can also be completed without enrollment and credited to the program at a later stage.
LAO: Currently, the LAO can only be combined with the «Master of Law: Rechtwissenschaft - 90 ECTS» study program. However, the LAO does not lead to an independent degree; it is listed as a separate unit in the academic record and does not impact the weighted overall grade. The LAO provides students with the option to broaden their studies or deepen their focus in a specific area, according to their personal interests.
Note: Students enrolled in the Master’s program «International and Comparative Law» can book LAO modules through the School of Transdisciplinary Studies (STS).
Language Requirements
The language of instruction is English. Therefore, language skills of at least C1 are required. Some elective modules are only offered in German. To benefit from the entire program, German language skills are an advantage.
Change of Degree or Study Program
Students matriculated at the UZH can enroll in the program until 31 August 2025 by requesting a «Change of Degree and/or Study Program» via the student portal. After changing your degree and/or study program, you can book courses via student services as usual.
