DSI Community Health is looking for participants in SOLIDERA workshop

The DSI Community Health is conducting a SOLIDERA workshop from April 16 to 17 and is looking for PhD students or early postdocs to participate.

In the context of the international initiative «SOLIdifying Digital REseaRch Approaches in health sciences (#SOLIDERA)», the DSI Community Health is conducting a workshop from April 16 to 17. A team of health researchers from the universities of Zurich, Fribourg and Toronto will conduct an experiment in which teams have to solve a real-life data analysis challenge. Participants will be observed while working on the task and insights will be gathered to identify best practices in data-driven health research.

The organizers are looking for 12 to 16 PhD students or postdocs with strong quantitative skills and practical experience in data analysis. Candidates should:

  • be proficient in R/Python and experienced in health-related data analysis.
  • be available for a pre-workshop Zoom session (date tbd).
  • attend the full workshop from April 16 (10:00) to April 17 (16:00).
  • consent to being observed and recorded during the challenge (all data anonymized).

 

Participants can expect:

  • tackling a real-world data analysis challenge in a competitive team setting
  • Engaging in expert-led discussions on best practices in health data research
  • networking with international researchers from Zurich, Fribourg, and Toronto
  • a gift card for all partcipants and a prize for top-performing teams
  • free lunches on April 16 & 17 and a social dinner event on April 16
