DSI Minor Digital Skills: Successful start

In the 30 ECTS Master’s minor study program DSI Minor Digital Skills, students learn how to meet the challenges of the digital transformation and take advantage of its opportunities. The new program has officially started in mid-September 2024.

After three years of curriculum development and piloting the individual modules, the new DSI Minor Digital Skills officially started its first semester on September 16, 2024.

The project team is pleased to report that 38 motivated students are currently taking part in the program's core modules. Interdisciplinary teams of 4-5 students are working on project concepts for the following challenges in the module Teamwork on Digital Transformation Challenges:

  • Digital Female Health: A Life Course Approach
  • Epidemics
  • Multimodal Language Generation
  • Sustainable and scalable spatial database
  • The sustainable laptop journey

Events around the DSI Minor Digital Skills

The project team is also organizing various exciting events in the coming weeks.

  • For example, an «Expert Lunch» on November 11, 2024, with the aim of gathering ideas and feedback for the project concepts from as many perspectives as possible.
  • Or the «Artistic Reflection» outreach event on November 18, 2024, where students will present their artistic work on aspects of digital transformation and discuss it with the interested public.
  • On December 9, 2024, it will be philosophical: at a lunch event, the meaning of life will be explored and how digitalization is changing the way we think and act.
  • On December 16, 2024, all interested parties are invited to discuss the challenge concepts that will be developed in a world café setting as part of the DSI Minor Digital Skills in the spring semester of 2025. In addition, the successful completion of the project «P-8 'Digital Skills' in Teaching 2021-2024» will be celebrated. Many of the results developed in this project will be incorporated directly into the DSI Minor Digital Skills.
