Detecting propaganda: Can AI make us better news readers?

Misinformation and propaganda have been identified as major global risks, according to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2024. Meanwhile, platforms like Meta and X are shutting down their fact-checking initiatives, leaving news consumers exposed to unfiltered information. But how can readers become more aware and better equipped to recognize misinformation and propaganda?

We invite you to the presentation of Apollolytics — an automated propaganda detection tool developed by the ClarifAI research team under supervision of Prof. Dr. Liudmila Zavolokina and Prof. Dr. Alexandre Bovet. Using Large Language Models, Apollolytics detects propaganda in news articles and provides context-rich explanations, enhancing users' critical thinking.

During the event, the research team will demonstrate the tool in action and share its key findings. Prior to the event, participants will receive a link to try out the Apollolytics.

The event is open to everybody who is interested. After the presentation, all  invite you to continue the conversation over an apéro.
