From Neuroscience to Efficient & Proven Learning Apps (for Math and Literacy)

The Zürich-based team of «Constructor for Schools» has developed successful learning applications for reading, writing, and math for more than 15 years.

Christian Vögeli, a co-founder of the original ETH spin-off, will explain how the interdisciplinary team started with neuroscientific models for the acquisition of the basic cultural techniques of writing, reading, and doing math; how it modeled the knowledge graphs behind the apps with this know-how and molded them into user-friendly learning apps first published in 2007.
He will elaborate on how the efficiency of the apps was shown in scientific studies at ETHZ, UZH, and the University of Potsdam and how more than 1,000 schools adopted the apps in Switzerland alone.
Finally, Christian will demonstrate the apps and best practices and share his outlook on the developments for 2024/25.

The event is part of the «Meet EdTech company» series.
