Artificial Intelligence Agency and Liability Workshop

The DSI Community Ethics invites academics and policy makers from across disciplines to the «Artificial Intelligence Agency and Liability Workshop», taking place for a half day on December 12, 2024. It is being organised by PhD members from the cross-discipline University of Zurich Digital Science Initiative (DSI). Throughout the workshop, participants will discuss the agency, liability, and human interaction dimensions of machine based AI systems.
The workshop will begin with a morning keynote talk by Reto Gubelmann, followed by break-out sessions, each chaired by a DSI host.
The themes for the breakout session are:
- Agency of AI – convened by Ema Martinelli / Karl Reimer from theoretical philosophy;
- Responsibility of AI – convened by Basak Yalman from the law faculty;
- Human and AI interaction – convened by Chiara Natali from applied philosophy.
The workshop will conclude in the early afternoon with a plenary session and closing drinks.
